Track Print from left to right and word by word

When you notice that your child is not pointing to words say:
  • Read it with your finger.
  • Make your finger and your voice match.
  • Push the button under each word. (Sometimes I put an x with pencil to show them where to touch)
  • Hop your finger to the next word like a rabbit hops.

*Try to get the finger under the first letter of the word.  Being precise is important because this is where their eyes need to look when they are reading and figuring out unknown words especially.

* Look for a good pointing finger.  One finger out and all others back.  This is one time when pointing is ok. (ha, ha!)
